Wedding Venue Viewing – Genting Jurong Hotel
Checked out Genting Jurong Hotel during their open house, but the moment I stepped into the hotel I didnt quite like it.
The first thing I did not like was how the reception was in the hotel’s main lobby, so tourists or strangers could all linger around outside the ballroom and be outside at the reception area. Secondly, when I entered the ballroom, there were so many pillars, it was actually there to give you the option to partition the room if you did not need so many tables. The tea ceremony room was also at the back of the main ballroom.
Thirdly, me and Ian did not like any of the themes, there were three themes displayed – Cherry Blossom, mafia (That’s what me and Ian name it) and a normal floral looking theme.

They gave us a sunflower and Ian asked whether he could throw it away because he hate sunflowers haha there were also a sample of their weddig favours given to us.
The lady could immediately tell we were not interested in the venue so she suggested to us Equarius Hotel also under RWS. I cannot find much photos of the venue though. She said we could arrange for a viewing there but we have not made an appointment to go down. But below are the rates for the hotel.

Church Wedding Venue
Was looking at possible church wedding venues and somehow all of them the requirements was we have to be members of that church. And the catholic churches somehow had a very eerie vibe. My dream place still ends up at The Chapel at the Imaginarium. I remember i saw their costing before but somehow their main page has had an error for the longest time alr.
But based on my previous record I calculated
4 Hour Rental on Weekend ($4223.08) Rehearsal Rental (50% of 4 hour rental cost – $1544) The Loft & Family Room ($900) Total: $7,805.86
350 pax (The Chapel)
70 pax (Skyline Alfresco)
8 pax (Tea Ceremony Room)
The Bridal Room (4 pax)
The Loft – for guest counts of 300 pax and above (80 pax)
Family Room (20 pax – for guests counts of 300 pax and above)
It is so expensive this must as well be the wedding venue place already. I saw on Facebook it could fit 250 pax for round seating, although they said it is a struggle and I doubt we will hit 250 pax so I guess this could be a consideration.

Wedding Planning Journey Part 1
Since I am doing some research for the company to compare between WordPress, SquareSpace and Wix.com I thought I would try out creating a website for us and I can update and look back at the wedding planning journey in the future.

Wedding Venue Viewing – Andaz
I have never given much thought to what venue I was going to hold my wedding, whether it is going to be overseas or local, big or small and initimate, what was the budget going to be, how much am I willing to spend on my wedding. Somehow when I think about my future I always skip ahead to having babies with my husband and being one big family.
My interest got perked when Share started sending me hotel venues as she was deciding where to hold her wedding. I have always liked Andaz, I cannot even remember how I knew of the existence of this place to be honest. Share sent me photos and videos of the place and said I would love it. She said I could check out the venue without booking an appointment with a wedding planner so me and Ian went down after church service.
I really liked the ballroom except I was worried that if I did a wedding lunch banquet it would be really bright, I always told Ian I want the dark dark feels HAHAHA cause somehow feels more emotional more feels you know? DO YOU GET ME?? (Context: I want a father’s daughter dance if space permits and I foresee myself crying like cray so crying with the bright sun glaring at you feels weird, feels exposed and vulnerable. Also I really like fairy lights and i think they will not stand out in this lighting.) The space of the ballroom might also be an issue, I think there isnt enough space for a dance floor.
Price (2019):
Min 18 tables (Lunch), Min 22 Tables (Dinner)
SGD 1,628++ per table of 10 persons (Lunch on Saturday, Sunday and PH)
SGD 1,968++ per table of 10 perosns (Dinner on Friday, Sunday and PH)
SGD 2,068++ per table of 10 persons (Dinner on Saturday and Eve of PH)
I read on Dayre that during the 2018 Wedding Showcase they gave 1 free table for every 10 confirmed table).
In 2019, there was also a Love Bonito promo where you get one complimentary bottle of house wine per confirmed table for weddings held by 31 December 2019.
The moment you enter the ballroom you can’t help but go wow I love it. The high ceilings and glass windows makes it look grand and bigger than it actually is. Have the super great gatsby feels.

Here’s the recption area, I found it a teeny weeny cramp but when the guest come out of the lift there is actually a larger area for guest to hang around. Unfortunately I did not take a photo of the place.

I assume this is where people get to do their solemnisation on the same floor as the main ballroom.
I saw photos online that some couples also did their wedding solemnisation here on the rooftop. The door was locked so we didnt get to go out and take a proper photo of that place.
